







Located
in the Historic Center of Puebla, east on 14th Street and the boulevard
May 5.
The construction of this set dates from the sixteenth century. The
temple was completed in 1570 and was finally consecrated in 1767.
The main facade stands out for its impressive façade and for its high
tower of four bodies. The cover is gray quarry, flanked by large tile
panels between brick coatings. It was a work made from 1743 to 1767 with
full features baroque. Its membership includes three sections organized
by Stipe, who in most of its niches with sculptures entrepaños saved. It
is worth mentioning that the first side of the access vain marked half
point arch and jambs pillow. In the latter striking a great relief that
represents the imposition of the wounds of San Francisco. On the ledge
of the third body is the auction closed mixed on the cover which is
completely covered by foliage containing also the sculpture of a Madonna
and a statue at the top of San Miguel. The interior is a single nave,
covered with ribbed vaults of which are the choir and the presbytery,
the highlights of the choir stalls, the neoclassical altarpieces, but
mainly the mummified body of the blessed San Sebastián de Aparicio,
housed in a chiseled silver niche that is in the Chapel of Our Lady of
the Conquest.
It should be noted that with the recent construction of the Convention
Center of Puebla have been many renovations that enhance the view of the
place, on the back of the temple was a very pleasant park which was
formerly a cemetery. From here you can see one of the flanks of the food
market of the High Park and San Francisco where it is traditional to eat
Chalupas Poblana.
