Cantona is considered the most urbanized city in the prehispanic Mexico.
Her extensive communications network, with paved up to 1 km in length,
allowing a strong control of its inhabitants. Moreover, there were
walled streets that were able to close easily in case of an invasion.
Developed in an era of strong social conflicts, Cantona became in time a
fortress.
The large number of games identified in this city (24 so far, of which
10 are in the Acropolis) is clear evidence of the importance that was
given to the religious ceremonies. And among them the beheading and
mutilation were common and almost certainly related to the fertilization
of the earth. .
